A Community Seed (830 views)

Okay then...

That map may not even come, I've just made a large petition for it which seems to be going pretty well. It's hard to remember anything that was on that map since it's nearly a year old (11 months right now). I and some of the other members can remember the biomes, but we can't remember the coordinates to them, nor would I or anyone else who is trustworthy abuse the seed by using it in singleplayer and finding valuable items and/or locations. This poll has only been up for a couple of hours and there's still a lot of people who have not voted yet.

You don't like the idea of not having a border? Well a lot of us don't want to have a border now, since we've had it on this map and some previous ones. There's just so many people now, I doubt a small border will support them, even if it does expand. The border makes a few members including myself feel restricted to going somewhere and not being able to find the best possible location or distance that you'd like. A lot of us want to have the option to be able to stay at spawn or close to spawn if we want, whilst still having the option to move away if we want. That doesn't mean that they can't still have a base at spawn or participate in the community. As long as no one is stupid enough to go as far out as, say, over 10k in one direction, the server should be fine, but Jack knows more about this than any of us. Just because people don't think your border idea is very suitable doesn't mean that you should just go "I'm out" and ragequit. If this idea about using the old seed ends up not being very supported or Jack goes "#YOLOSWEG" then I won't be quitting in a rage, nor will anyone else who supports the idea.

The Iron Titan? If you don't like it, don't use it. It's only iron, not diamonds and it won't affect much on the server apart from beacons being easier and more iron blocks for building. Iron is easy to gain from mining anyway so you don't have much of a disadvantage if you don't use it. The iron will be shared out by dozens of players anyway, so in total there won't be much iron for every player unless they gather it in huge quantities at a time. Some of the other members don't use iron farms due to them feeling like it is cheating. They just don't use it. Simple. Why ruin many people's harvesting and wants for a small number? Chris is an example of someone who doesn't like using farms, he doesn't complain saying that he doesn't want any farms; he simply doesn't use it. There's no harm in an iron farm for people who want it, people who don't like it simply don't use it, they have an OPTION not to use it. Villager trading is much more abusive anyway, you can get unlimited saddles, diamond armour, diamond weapons, cheap enchantments and as many emeralds as you want. Does that mean that everyone who doesn't like villager trading quits? No. If you think it ruins the whole vanilla survival game; don't use it, simple.

Sten left because he felt like the odd one out. This is mainly because of situations which happened between other people. He also didn't seem to get along with several members of the server, although I had no problem with him and I'm not about to start a bitching about him. Sten didn't feel like he was settling into the community well and after these incidences, I can't blame him. You have not even been specific about your understanding of Sten's leaving. You're excuse is much more different and to be honest, pathetic, compared to his story.

I think you've mistaken yourself for all of us who are a community. You've been bringing up something that only you have wanted mainly with the specific type of border expanding whilst me and Connor have brought up subjects and ideas that a good amount of people support or want. I personally think you're being selfish about most of this and that you're not thinking like the community does. Whilst your border idea wasn't too bad; it was not going to work with so many people and would end up with some weird results and just resetting the map after a week seems to be a waste of time. We shouldn't have to play singleplayer. Singleplayer is dull and lacks the immersion that multiplayer has and the fun that other people have, that a community has. You're contradicting yourself saying that you want to play singleplayer now and that people who don't want to be part of the community need to play on it. 

You call some of us assholes? You're the one harshly remarking my build, Connor's idea, format and freedom for expressing his opinion and being a stuck-up, arrogant, cocky, full of himself individual who doesn't seem to accept defeat or anything negative happening to yourself.
